Lago Vista, TX - The City of Lago Vista proudly announces a significant honor for one of its most cherished residents, Ms. Ann Murrow. In recognition of her remarkable contributions to the community, the traffic circle on Dawn Drive will be officially renamed as the "Ann Murrow 4th of July Circle." A plaque commemorating this prestigious designation will be unveiled in a special ceremony. Of note is the fact that this location was chosen as it is the ending point of every 4th of July parade; an event organized and directed by Ms. Murrow for over 35 years.

Ms. Ann Murrow has been an integral part of Lago Vista since 1976, when she and her husband, Greg Murrow, made it their home. From the outset, Ms. Murrow has been a driving force in the development and enhancement of various organizations and services that continue to shape the fabric of our community.

Among her many accomplishments, Ms. Murrow played a pivotal role in establishing essential institutions such as the Lago Vista Public Library, the Chamber of Commerce, the Lago Vista Volunteers, the Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony, the Lago Vista 4th of July Council, and the esteemed Lago Vista Women's Club, which stands as the largest social and philanthropic organization on the North Shore of Lake Travis.

Beyond her notable achievements in founding these organizations, Ms. Murrow has been an active participant in numerous other community initiatives and has consistently championed the cause of local arts. Her unwavering commitment to recognizing needs and finding effective solutions has left an indelible mark on the residents of Lago Vista, for which we are profoundly grateful.

The traffic circle located at Dawn Drive and Circulo Drive will be renamed in honor of Ann Murrow symbolizing our community's deep appreciation for her enduring legacy of service and dedication. It serves as a reminder to all who pass through this junction of the profound impact that one individual can have on a community.

We invite residents, friends, and supporters to join us in celebrating this momentous occasion at the unveiling ceremony of the plaque on April 25th at 11:00 am at Dawn Drive and Circulo Drive to be renamed the Ann Murrow 4th of July Circle. Together, let us honor Ms. Murrow's extraordinary contributions and continue to strive for the betterment of our beloved Lago Vista.
