| Job Summary |
Under general supervision of the Parks & Recreation Director, the Park Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the care and maintenance of parks, municipal grounds, ball fields, city pool, airport, and designated City medians and rights-of-ways. This position includes daily supervision of parks and building maintenance employees and resources and equipment necessary for the maintenance and care of afore mentioned properties. Additionally, this position will require the incumbent to perform duties required for ground and landscape maintenance, inspection and maintenance of airport and park amenities, irrigation inspection, and reporting.
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (Individual duties, assignments and responsibilities required
of the position)
- Maintenance of City airport, Sunset Park, Pool, City streets including
Dawn Dr. and Highland Lake Dr., in addition to Police Station and City
Hall grounds.
- Supervises Park maintenance by assigning or completing duties such
as: maintaining a regular schedule for mowing, weeding, and watering
parks, city grounds, right of ways and medians; sweeping and clearing
fallen limbs from the public pathways, pick up waste and empty trash
containers and regular inspection of the parks and assigned grounds.
- Supervises landscape maintenance by assigning or completing duties
such as: planting, pruning, trimming trees, and shrubs, pulling weeds,
edging, raking, tree inspection and inventory, and other necessary
activities.
- Assign or complete irrigation inspection duties, completing irrigation
adjustments and minor repairs, contacting vendors to complete major
repairs such as line breaks.
- Supervises inspection and maintenance of park amenities by assigning
or completing duties such as: performing inspections of playgrounds,
restrooms, pavilions, water fountains, fencing etc.
- Notate possible safety hazards or causes of injury and react
accordingly, perform general maintenance and repair as required.
- Supervise and assist in building maintenance activities such as:
changing filters, repairing plumbing leaks, carpentry, painting, and other
minor building maintenance repairs as needed.
- Operate necessary equipment such as tractors, mowers, weed eaters,
hand, and power tools, etc.
- Following safety policies and procedures and caring for and properly
maintaining all park related equipment and supplies.
